I had the most glorious weekend ever!
It included:
A good, hard run.
A nap.
Decent food that I KNOW my kids wouldn’t like.
BEAUTIFUL SILENCE. IS it wrong that I am ready to google boarding schools for my kids? The LACK of NOISE was the most BEAUTIFUL SOUND EVER! My DH even told me that it feels like we are on holiday!
A date with my Boyfriend at Symphonic Rocks – it’s happening in Jhb this weekend so do go if you can. For the record, Afrikaans Rock is ROCKING! I know that I may be late to this party (it happens when you get older) but I have discovered A-King, F/Off polisiekar and Van Coke Cartel. I am soooo going to make an effort to see them AGAIN!
A lie-in on Sunday morning.
A few games of Chess. Just so you know, my DH is very impressed with my ability to strategise.
A decent rare steak for lunch.
Another long, long nap.
A friend date in the evening for a DELICIOUS Thai food groupon dinner.
Going to bed WAY too late last night.
Child1 is living it up at MIL, Child2 was apparently very sad every time the sun went down and insisted that he must go to his Mommy NOW. I went to fetch him early yesterday evening even though I was going to leave them both there for the week – He insisted that he couldn’t stay with Granny because he needed to go to Sheila. Poor kid. I think he’s looking for alone time with me. My DH said that he was looking for me after I left to go out with my friend last night. HE does appear to be going all baby-like. Wanting me to feed him and dress him and carry him etc. We even had TWO potty accidents last week which is unusual. I am humouring him for the moment but do I need to worry about this?
Anyway, I’m going to be taking part in The Nesters 31 day writing challenge – mine’s going to be on ADHD. If I can get my act together, then the first post will go up tonight. I will schedule a post to be published in the morning and I’ll still do a regular blog post in the evening – in other words, for the next 31 days, there will be two posts in one day.
How are you? How was your weekend? And your Monday?
Aah…silence. I love a bit of that too. It’s almost a guilty pleasure really.
I don’t know if you need to worry. We get the occasional potty oops too, especially if Nicola feels an upset in the schedule or she’s not feeling well. And of course when she gets to a new place and she’s too fascinated to go when she knows she has to.
Maybe wait a while to see if it settles down again before you worry too much about it?
We had an awesome weekend!!! Maybe Child2 is just going through a seperation anxiety phase? Has anything changed? That makes Kiara very unsettled!!!
PS – is your husband your husband? or your boyfriend?
He is BOTH! I think he is going through separation anxiety. Follows me EVERYWHERE!
no idea…. C is still doing underpants with S but nappies with us. I can’t be bothered – at worst, the school will sort him out next year
Your weekend sounds fantastic!
Can I try make you feel better? I’ve already chosen the boarding school my eldest will be attending for high school. Its far enough that he won’t be home week nights but close enough that he’ll be home every weekend.
I also love to call my hubby my boyfriend! I feel that is is special to still think o fthem as your boyfriend too.
YOu weekend does sound fantastic and yes, my kingdom for silence, if I had one.
I will not worry yet, maybe he just needs a bit one on one attention. Maybe see when the potty accidents come – ar they when he wants attention?
Ahhhh Silence….I love silence. I am so glad you had time to rest and recharge.
xx
